- His coconuts were in high demand and of excellent quality
From Kampung Bratan, Uncle Gusup, or well-known as Uncle Coconut who is famous for his coconuts. Uncle Gusup has been involved in the agriculture field for quite some time as his side income. His coconuts were in high demand and of excellent quality, to the point where he had a nickname given by the community. Aside from coconuts, he also farms tilapia and leptobarbus hoevenii.
Mr. Gusup's Farm
Currently, he is managing almost 4 acres for plantation and 2 acres for fish farming. Coconut, lemon, pomelo, limau kasturi, sago, and banana are among the crops grown on his farm. Uncle Gusup also produces various types of banana such as pisang embun, pisang emas, pisang keling, pisang kepok, and pisang tanduk.
Unfortunately, Uncle Gusup uses the traditional way to clear his land which was slashing and open burning. This practice will give a bad impact to the environment in the long run. Therefore, a sustainable way of farming was introduced to Mr. Gusup as it is safer for the environment.
Famous Uncle Coconut
Uncle Gusup plants coconuts, lemons, pomelo, limau kasturi, sago, and pisang emas in his farm. The coconuts he produced are well-known as they are very healthy. This is because he took excellent care of his farm and ensured that the product was of the highest quality. He mentioned that there are no signs of diseases found in his crops, which means that his coconuts are very healthy with higher yields.
Uncle Gusup handles his plantation alone, that explains how hardworking he is from a zero to a famous coconut distributor. It is really amazing how one strong-willed farmer who handled a farm alone became a famous coconut provider.
