Insect Pests

Insect pests are the main sources of biotic stress on crops. There are hundreds of insects that cause serious damage to crops and this include surface feeders that damage foliage by chewing, piercing, or sucking (armyworms, chinch bugs, cutworms, and sod webworms) and subsurface feeders, which attack roots and result in desiccation and plants that are susceptible to drought (grubs). In the olden days, these problems were controlled completely by chemical insecticide, which are now the main concern in  inducing pollution. Which leads to poor development and progression of a number of health problems in humans and animals. Fortunately, there are ways to rid and repel insect pests from the crops plants without using chemicals.

What are they?

For application, mix 100 ml of the extract with a spoon of cooking oil, a teaspoon of dish soap and 1 liter of water and spray to the infected crop thrice a day at the leaf surface.
