A diligent farmer from Kampung Semadang, Mr Tajah and his wife has a high devotion to plantation life. They believe that farming is their way of therapy aside from as a income in their livelihood. Kampung Semadang is located approximately 1 hour drive away from Kuching City, famous for its mountains and kampung view.

Mr. Tajah's Plantside

Mr Tajah plants various kinds of crops such as corn, banana keling, banana embun, banana berangan, banana hotel, banana kapok, papaya, pineapple, kangkong, and kucai. Mr Tajah and his wife are passionate farmers from Kampung Semadang with hopes to produce good quality crops. They use NPK green, urea, NPK for flowering fertiliser, and coin malathion as their fertiliser and chemical pesticide. They get their water supply by rainwater through the tank. Rainwater tanks are a great alternative to soak wells when it comes to managing stormwater, particularly if you have a space that does not impact your usable yard.

Challenges He Faced

One of the challenges that they face throughout their experience would be chlorosis of the banana leaf which tends to happen on one plant. Aside from that, mulching insect have been a parasite on the leaves of their vegetable plant. Squirrels and rats have brought disturbance and damaged their pineapple crops.

With a growing market of conscious consumers, Mr Tajah and his wife are excited about the possibilities of reaching out to more consumers. By supporting these farmers, we are able to give more opportunity to them to expand their farm and they are then able to provide more for their family.
